Book club and a glass of wine
So I love reading but I have to admit that I had fallen out of the habit after having my children - just not enough hours in the day! I think after a while I lost my reading mojo but around Christmas time last year one of the lovely mums from school suggested that we start a book group. I've never been in a book group before and my only experience of one was from a Channel 4 series of the early noughties which followed a pretty dysfunctional and killingly funny group around various living rooms. You should check it out, honestly...
But anyway, I thought what the heck, if nothing else I would get to spend some grown up company drinking wine with a lovely bunch of ladies. Well, nearly 10 months in I have to say it has been fab. I am very much a book lover again and I have had several enjoyable evenings drinking wine and eating amazing cake! And it has been really energising to spend a couple of hours a month with other mums where we aren't just focusing on our children. My favourite book club read so far has definitely been The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. I loved it so much that I wanted to start reading it again as soon as I finished it!
